Hi, my name is Onita P. I am a Texas native, born and raised. I’ve been a teacher for the past 25 years. I’ve been fortunate enough to obtain a Bachelors degree in Sociology and a Masters in Teacher Leadership. I’ve taught all grade levels from grade pre-k 4, to kindergarten, to 6th-8th grade and even high school, grades 9th-12th. I’ve taught in all school types, including public schools, charter schools and private schools. And, did so, all while married and raising 3 kids, prior to my husband of 13 years unexpected death in the Summer of 2010, making me a widow, suddenly, at the age of 37. Please note, I offer this bit of information, for one reason and one reason only, and that is to share that I do have some background experience in mentoring and serving. But, more importantly, I want you to know that I know, the very real struggles of trying to balance all of the things given in our daily lives, whilst, also, trying to ‘be’ and ‘find’ our higher self, i.e, also trying to ‘answer the call’ we feel’s been placed on our life/lives.
WHY I STARTED THIS SITE
But, despite going thru all of these things, I must make the very real declaration, yet still, that our lives are not our own, as stated by the scripture given, less a seed falls to the ground, and dieth, it brings forth no fruit. And, it is my goal to bring forth fruit in due season, before my earthly journey ends. And I know the only way to do so is for me to answer the call God has on my life.
So, having said that, you may ask yourself, why share this, what is the point here. Well, let me tell you, the reason that I give these few examples to you is to show you that I’ve gone thru great trials and tribulations, the same as you. And, some of you may have sadly and undoubtedly gone thru worse. Hence, often times when we’ve gone thru such traumatic things as these, we began to doubt ourselves and more importantly we began to doubt God and wonder our purpose, our call.
